Mikaela started dancing at the age of 4 in her hometown of Hagerstown, Maryland. She has been trained in Ballet, Jazz, Contemporary, Lyrical, Tap and Hip Hop by a variety of top choreographer’s in the dance industry. Not only was the dance studio her second home, but she also took to the stage as a cast member with several productions at Washington County Playhouse growing up. Mikaela is a graduate of Barbara Ingram School of the Arts where she studied dance through out her high school years, as well as involved herself in the school musicals. During those 4 years she danced competitively for Maryland’s prestigious B. Funk Dance Company, receiving many outstanding awards and scholarships during the competition season, and spent the off season expanding her training at workshops, conventions and Master Classes across the US. Right after high school she started her dGifance career as a teacher/choreographer at B.Funk Dance Company for their recreational and competitive teams, where she then also became the Dance Company Coordinator. In addition, she has taught for Dancin’ Time Studio’s, South Hagerstown High school dance team, and Barbara Ingram School of the Arts CATS program. Aside from teaching, Mikaela has also had the opportunity to work on the business-side of dance with Monster’s of Hip Hop Dance Convention and has danced in performances under the direction of Laura Edwards. Mikaela continues her passion for dancing by taking class with top choreographers in NYC & LA every chance she gets. She is dedicated to sharing her love of dance and pride in her choreography to the professional dancer as well as the casual dancer. She is so excited for this new journey in Massachusetts, and even more excited going into her 6th year of teaching as an All-Stars Dance Instructor!
